Relationship Banker I - Business Center, Chalmette

Division: Consumer Banking
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Branch Sales and Operations Manager and/or Branch Manager
Supervises: No supervisory responsibility

Job Summary:

This person is meant to be the "first line" of contact for customers as they enter the branch. They service customers by opening new accounts and providing information about the various types of services and products offered. They profile customers in an effort to uncover a customers needs and to grow customer relationships. They assist with handling complaints or problems customers may experience with banking relationship.

Job Duties:

 

  • Opens new accounts, including checking, savings, Certificates of Deposit, Money Markets, IRAs and commercial accounts
  • Provides customers with account information
  • Answers phones
  • Adhering to security measures
  • Assists with loan processing and servicing
  • Answers customer questions regarding products, services and accounts
  • Resolves customer problems through direct personal action or referral to proper staff member
  • Monitors customer accounts for non branch officers
  • Identify and maximize cross selling opportunities through profiling customers
  • Responsible for generating referrals to all other lines of business, i.e., Mortgage and Wealth Management
  • Orders checks
  • Operates a teller terminal when needed
  • Assists with balancing the vault and cash verification
  • May be assigned to opening and closing the branch and other operational task
  • Cross trains and supports other positions as needed
  • Ensures that all regulatory requirements are met, for example, CIP, BSA, etc.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as needed by Operations Manager and Branch Manager

Education/Training/Experience/Skills Neccessary To Perform Successfully:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Normally 1 – 3 years of sales and/or service experience
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Knowledgeable on bank products and various bank lines of business in order to refer correctly
  • PC Knowledge
  • Operates office equipment (fax, copier, calculator, etc.)
