Bernard has been in the finance industry since 2000 and has been working as a mortgage lender since 2005. He graduated from LSU with a bachelor’s degree in business management and received an MBA from Tulane in marketing.
Mortgage lending is not just a transaction. It’s a monumental part of our lives! Bernard is passionate about ensuring that we find the best product available for each customer by taking time to understand the individual situation and goals. How long do you plan on owning the home? Is the plan to pay off the loan quickly? When are you retiring? When are kids going to college? How will the mortgage effect affordability of other needs? All these questions play a part in providing solid options whether it’s a standard 30 year fixed, an ARM product, utilizing a 2nd mortgage, or even utilizing a single premium mortgage insurance product instead of monthly mortgage insurance. He’s helped many different clients with needs all over the spectrum but has gained expertise in several areas: self-employed borrowers, mortgage planning during divorce, condo transactions, and second home/investment properties.
Bernard has been working with Gulf Coast Bank for three years but has been a customer since hurricane Katrina. He takes great pride in working for a truly local bank that played such a large role in providing construction financing for our homes and businesses during such a turbulent time. With all the great things going on in the city, we honestly can say that we are back. He looks forward to helping our customers and the community continue to grow and thrive!
